Ahhhh, summer in Boston. After the snow and ice covered sidewalks clear, there’s nothing better than picnics in the park, yoga under the sun, and a night outside under the stars.
Lucky for us, just steps away from Millennium place is the Boston Common, what we like to refer to as our backyard. The oldest public park in America, the Common is home to gorgeous greenery and rich history and sets a stage for a plethora of spectacular La Vie events.
This July, we’ll stroll to the common for an exclusive twist on the critics’ preview of Shakespeare on the Common as the company presents The Two Gentlemen of Verona.
Before heading to the show, our friends at SIP will host a private cocktail reception for a little pre-Shakespeare mingling. Once on the common, you’ll enjoy an exclusive back stage tour to meet the director. Then we’re ready for the show.
Endearingly referred as “Two Gents,” this is the story of two friends who leave their hometown of Verona and set out to find happiness and fortune in Milan. In vying for favor with the high-society Duke, however, they also set their sights on his debutante daughter. A classic Shakespeare move, the characters are pulled into a web of disguise, deception, and secrecy.
Immediately following the show, the director and cast get back to evaluations and rehearsals to prepare for the grand opening to the public. And Millennium Place residents have front row seats for that as well.
