The Voice of Downtown Boston helps you discover the best your neighborhood has to offer.
One of the most exciting parts about moving into a new home is getting to know your new neighborhood — and then showing off your favorite local haunts when friends and family come to visit. But where to start? Review sites like yelp and urbanspoon are a good bet, but recently, The Voice of Downtown Boston has become our go-to source for the inside scoop on a new bistro or inspiration for an evening out – we think you’ll like it too.
Founded in 2011, The Voice of Downtown Boston is an online magazine dedicated exclusively to covering the newest social, cultural and political happenings downtown. We like that it has a refreshingly modern perspective, and every article is written like advice from a good friend. Every week, The Voice of Downtown Boston offers up new bar and restaurant reviews, previews of upcoming shows and cultural events, fitness and sports articles, downtown business and real estate coverage, and even suggestions for family-friendly weekend outings in the city. They also have a twitter feed at @VoiceBostonDTX, for tips and suggestions on the go.
One of our favorite features on the site is the “#DowntownBoston Photo of the Week” series. Instagram photographers document the beauty of urban living in Boston, and each week one the best shots is displayed on the home page for all to see. So, next time you find yourself snapping a great picture of your neighborhood or city view, add the hashtag #DowntownBoston and maybe you’ll be selected “Photo of the Week!”
Thanks to TheVoiceofDowntownBoston.com, we may never be at a loss again for what to do in the neighborhood. Take a look, then, go forth and explore!
